Our basic philosophy concerning the teaching of the Church @ Steeplechase is as follows: In essential beliefs - we have unity. In non-essential beliefs - we have freedom. In all our beliefs -we show love. The Essentials · The Scriptures are God’s inspired Word and contain no error. They reveal all that is necessary for a relationship with God. · There is one God with three distinct yet undivided persons - God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. · Man, though created innocent and in God’s image, chose to rebel against God and is now unable to know God apart from the grace of God. · Salvation, or reconciliation with God, is totally on the basis of the work of Christ in His perfect life, substitutionary death, and resurrection. No work of man can reconcile him to God. · It is the duty of every person to turn from sin and trust only in Christ. This is the only means of salvation. No one receiving this gift from God can ever lose it, but will be kept by God’s power in a pursuit of Godly living.
·
The local church is a group of
baptized believers, who enter into a covenant with one another to care for
the spiritual well being of one another and proclaim the message of Christ
to those who don’t know Him. To qualify for membership in the Church at Steeplechase you must affirm the following statement of faith: In addition to the required statement of faith for members, the following are additional historic creeds and statements of faith which we affirm as guiding principles for our teaching. While they are of secondary importance to the Scripture, we recognize their value in formulating the theology and doctrine of local Baptist churches.
